PHOTO HISTORY OF COLONIAL DANCERS

acd_logo_col2

Founded in 1979, the Adelaide Colonial Dancers aim to preserve, revive and teach colonial dances,
thus also fostering the charm of yesteryear.
Colonial dances are those social dances popular in Australia from European settlement to Federation, including Polkas, Mazurkas, Waltzes and Quadrilles. Although common to the rest of the world, through isolation and ethnic heritage of towns and villages, many of these common dances have developed distinct regional flavours.
